Choose Our Next Adventure

Nate and I have always been pretty open to trying new things, from food to make-you-own-art night we try to keep ourselves entertained in our free time.

Now I don't want to say the well of creativity for coming up with cool stuff to do has run dry, but the reality is it would be so much MORE fun to do stuff people tell us to. For those of you closest to me, you know I don't like to be bossed around, so this is a double bonus for you.

So here is the idea:

You, loyal blog readers, submit something you would like Nate and I to try in 2010.
Nate and I will then try said suggestions.
You can check-back and laugh at our trials and tribulations trying new adventures.

Now, before you think of throwing something totally crazy out there (Uncle Todd....) please read the following considerations:

1) We don't want to go to jail--which  probably eliminates anything Plonske might suggest...
2) We are not millionaires so please no world-wide excursions.
3) We live in Minnesota--which means skinny dipping in January is OUT.

There it is. Our 2010 challenge to you to challenge us. You follow?

So think on it. Sleep on it. And let us know what our next adventure should be!

How about....GRANDBABY!!!! Don't have to be rich, doesn't require world wide travel, don't have to skinny dip in Minnesota in the Winter...A PERFECT IDEA!!!
I think my idea is the best!!

Dad:))!!

Um, I wouldn't say Skinny Dipping in January is out. MN invented the "Polar Plunge" which I am all for. By the way, can I submit an adventure for us as a loyal blog reader?

Have you guys tried rock climbing? Vertical Endeavors is a great place to do it indoors.

Why am I always put on restrictions???

I will keep thinking on this....but the only way to top Dad's suggestion right now is....Twin Grandbabys!! Love,Mom

PS - I would prefer suggestions that DON'T involve gestation periods.

Ok campers. After loading an 82 year old neighbor lady who fell into an ambulance, ok...she did not fall into an ambulance, she fell down first and we then loaded her into said ambulance...and some steel reserve...I got it. Scuba lessons. For Halloween next year you can carve your pumkins underwater. I have won 2 underwater pumpkin carving competions and it really is the only way to carve pumpkins. There are fish that swoop in like piranhas and eat the guts and seeds. Very fun! The Scuba certification is for lifetime so you can pretty much go anywhere in the world and dive. Last ice dive I did was pulling a snowmobile out of a pond. I almost felt bad about charging the kid $500 dollars but it was cheaper than being turned into the cops for under age drinking...was that wrong???

Greta - How about a type of dance class? Swing or Salsa? I think it would be so fun to do if I was teeny tiny like you ;) I am excited to follow along!!!

ooo...I'm going to research Minneapolis and find you something good...and then plan a trip up to visit you and we can do it together. Better yet, take a trip to St.Louis and visit me! I'll show you an adventure.

Meghan should get certified for diving too then when you visit her in St Looee, you can skip over to Bonne Terre mine and go scuba diving in the old lead mine.

Greta,

I think a canoe trip to the BWCA would be good for you and Nate. Think of all the bonding you can do in a canoe and tent. Let me know if you need details!!

I heared about your not-so-excellent knife skills (and your 'accident' last April 1), so I thought you may enjoy the 'Knife Skills' class at the Cooks of Crocus Hill. (The January class is full, but you could take one later in the year!)

Hey G! I'm so glad you posted this on your FB account. I totally forgot about this and just spent 1/2 an hour perusing your old posts & laughing my arse off. Seriously -- Branson, MO? Hilarious.

I agree with your mom & dad that a BABY would make a great 2010 adventure! :) But, that takes 10 months, and I have a suggestion for something you can do in the meantime.

Being from northern MN - I'm all about embracing MN through the good, the bad, & the ugly. (ahem - WINTER!) You & Nate should go DOGSLEDDING up in the Boundary Waters! Craig & I went a couple years ago, and it was hands down one of the best adventures we have had. You go over a long weekend, learn to mush the dogs, learn to cross country ski, snowshoe, cook all your meals over open fire, sleep outside (in the OPEN, no fire, no tents, nada. And on a frozen lake no less!) It's AMAZING! Nate can even get his skinny dipping in. They have a real wood burning sauna that you can use on your last night, conveniently located next to the lake. You steam up, run outside, hop in the hole they've cut in the ice & run back in to warm up again. Very invigorating! GMI usually has a great offer through the employee club too. Check it out.

Good luck picking your next adventure! :) Lisa

Minnesota is a big hockey state so it would only be appropriate that you take up hockey so that you can be sure to fit in with the majority eh?
