Well, Shoot

Today was not a good day in Hanson Household.

Remember this:

See the joy on Nate's face as he got his first road bike. The prized possession that got him into triathlons. The bike that has been the recipient of many birthday gifts (pedals), Christmas gifts (aero-bars) and compassionate cleanings from it's owner.

Well...that bike is gone. Some klepto stole it while Nate was at the chiropractor today.

Needless to say, today was NOT a swear-free day in the Hanson household.

And I really hope that whoever stole Nate's bike gets what's coming to them. Karma, people. Karma.

I hope whoever stole it slips off the pedals while pedaling hard and smokes the center bar....and then because the pain is so excrutiating, he veers into a loaded 18 wheeler, and ends up as a big smear on the road....

That was dad's post by the way

Nate I feel your pain. Back around 1981 I built a bike that was the marriage of a 20 inch schwin and a 10 speed. I used the schwin frame respoked the rear wheel and put in the gears, swapped out the front pedal gear too. Motocross handle bars and offset the seat back a bit. I used it when I went to college the first time. It too was stolen. I like to think my creation is what started the modern day mountain bike, because prior to that they were not around. About a year later I spotted a kid on it. I performed a non-violent verbal interrigation and learned he purchsed it from the police auction of stolen unclaimed things for $6. He said I could have it back...I declined the offer, but forced him to listen and learn the history behind the bike. Sadly I doubt you will have that fortune. Now might be the time to develop the security seat. Unauthorized rider hops on, small shaped explosive charge goes off forcing them off your bike...of course you will need a new seat...

What a major bummer....you need a new, super duper Houdini lock for the next bike, or just take it in any building instead of leaving in on the street.
What about the race this weekend? Only up side is that we can start over on the gift selection. SO sorry, Love, Mom

Oh man, that sucks! I'm so sorry that happened to you, Nate. Getting stuff stolen is awful.

Sorry about your bike Nate-that sucks a lot. I guess that means the no swearing for 10 days was a failure as well. On the positive side you get the joy of picking out a new bike.

Uh sooo sorry Nate, I feel for you. Not much else to say in this but stay positive and hope that karma does bite whoever in the ass.
